Word of the week – 11.01.2021

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Mark 11:24

If there is something I am learning and yearning to do more and more – is pray. Last year, I realized that I pray not only because I want to, but because I know that God can answer my prayers – so I pray because I believe in the person that I am praying to. So you can imagine how excited I was when I came across this verse.

When my nephew started praying, there is something that caught my attention – and that is how he prayed about and for everything! He took his time to pray for the people and things he encountered during the day and asked for God’s blessings upon them. I remember how impressed I was, not only was it an innocent prayer – but it was a powerful one! So I learnt and picked something from him – to pray about everything!

Prayer is such a beautiful thing, and it is so amazing when we realize that we have direct access to the creator of heaven and earth, and when we pray He listens! But there is so much joy when we understand that we pray because we believe – and this means that we pray because we know He has the ability and power to answer our prayers! I love how when I pray about certain things in faith – the humility that takes over when God answers those prayers, He meets my belief and faith in Him!

This week as you continue working on your goals for the year and setting the tone for 2021 – present them to God and believe that He will help you accomplish them – for His glory.

Dear God,

As we start this year and the week as well, be with us and reveal to us the power that you have in answering our prayers. It is such an honor not only to pray, but to believe in the person we are praying to – and that is you O God. Work in us, for your glory – show us the power that our prayers have, and the importance of believing in you. Bless our year O Lord, and lead us in the path that you want us to follow. Bless our week O God – in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Have a blessed week!

Serving your Season!

A few Sundays ago, we were in church, and I noticed how attending church has changed for me. We get to church, attend the praise, and worship session (thank the Lord our daughter loves music), and sit through the next sessions, a few minutes of the sermon and she wants to

Can I be independent in marriage?

A friend of mine asked me that question the other day. And this is what I told her: Being independent means “not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence”. When I look at the vows we make, the beginning of marriage takes away our independence. However, what varies throughout marriage is

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”. Matthew 7:14 When I think about a narrow road, I imagine that the person using that road must be sure that that is the road they want to take. Because it is
