Word of the week – 06.10.2020

“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”

2 Timothy 3:16-17

I came across this scripture the other day (I had never read it before) – and I actually smiled so hard, because of the excitement I felt in reading the words. The Bible actually has answers to every question, and it gives us the God perspective that we need in life.

The two verses actually speak for themselves, the first part answers the question why – why we should study the Bible, and the second part answers the question for what – the reason as to why we should the Bible. The Bible was written for us and it blows my mind at how it continues to apply through every generation.

We need the Bible to equip us for every good work. When writing this I immediately thought of the story in the Bible when the enemy tried to tempt Jesus, and how Jesus’ response was “it is written” (Matthew 4:4). This gets me every time because Jesus spoke words that were true and promised to man. I like it because it portrays that what is written is for us, and it works when we believe them so that we don’t just speak them without revelation, but speak with revelation and having the faith that God’s work is real and what is written is true.

This week focus on studying God’s work so that you:

  • Receive teaching
  • Accept to be rebuked
  • Allow yourself to be corrected
  • Receive training in righteousness

And remember this that it is for you, for us, to make sure that we have what it takes for our lives!

Have a blessed week!

I love to write, talk and share my experiences, I strongly believe in the power of sharing and how one’s experience is enough to shape another person’s life.

Can I be independent in marriage?

A friend of mine asked me that question the other day. And this is what I told her: Being independent means “not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence”. When I look at the vows we make, the beginning of marriage takes away our independence. However, what varies throughout marriage is

Trusting God is a Narrow Path…

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”. Matthew 7:14 When I think about a narrow road, I imagine that the person using that road must be sure that that is the road they want to take. Because it is
