Word of the week – 24.11.2020

What is my perspective about faith?

“Perspective – a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view”

She said to herself, “if only I could touch His cloak, I will be healed” Matthew 29:21 (NIV) – this woman had total belief of where her healing was. It wasn’t a just in case I touch the hem of His garment I will heal, it wasn’t a just in case I touch the hem of His garment and heal then I will believe that it is God – and if I don’t receive my healing it’s all good, I have a solid plan B. It was “only if I could touch the hem of His garment” she received her healing because of the faith that she had, of the belief that she had of where her healing was. PERSPECTIVE!

In Luke 8:6 (NLT) Jesus said “someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me”.

Do you believe in God entirely for what you are praying for, trusting Him for? We need to have total belief, not partial belief! Is your faith deliberate, will you stretch your hand out in faith, will you push through the crowd in faith?

Notice that she first stated her faith and then followed it by acting on her words? Her action was as a result of her believing her words! James 2:26 (NLT) “just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works” (this verse actually came to my mind as I was writing this post).

I like what Jesus said to the woman in Luke 8:48 (NIV) “Daughter your faith has healed you”. How many times do we read in the Bible Jesus telling someone “your faith has healed you”?  My prayer is that we will get to a point where our faith in what He can do, and what He will do for us – will be clear, pure, deliberate – that He will meet our faith!

This year my perspective on faith and what faith means has changed my life! I now understand that when I pray, I must have total belief that I am praying to Him because He can do it! I am not just praying so that I can say that I prayed about it, I am praying because I believe Him and I believe in Him!

This week, I pray that your perspective of the faith that you have will shift, that it may heal you, that it may set you free – reach out, be deliberate!

This word of the week has spoken to me so deep; I pray that it speaks to you as well.

Have a blessed week and faith filled week!

Serving your Season!

A few Sundays ago, we were in church, and I noticed how attending church has changed for me. We get to church, attend the praise, and worship session (thank the Lord our daughter loves music), and sit through the next sessions, a few minutes of the sermon and she wants to

Can I be independent in marriage?

A friend of mine asked me that question the other day. And this is what I told her: Being independent means “not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence”. When I look at the vows we make, the beginning of marriage takes away our independence. However, what varies throughout marriage is

Trusting God is a Narrow Path…

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”. Matthew 7:14 When I think about a narrow road, I imagine that the person using that road must be sure that that is the road they want to take. Because it is
