“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
Ephesians 3:18 – 19 (New Living Translation)
Yesterday in church during worship, we sang songs about God’s love for us – and that was such a needed reminder for me. If there is something that warms my heart is God’s love for me, and how He shows me He loves me, and how He loves me through small and also big things. We live in such a fast world, and it is so easy to take God’s love for granted, to look at things that He does for and to us to remind of His love as normal.
Last week I found myself doing a task that I really didn’t like, and I remember telling myself “Sophie do this work as if you are doing it for God” and my attitude changed immediately! I felt that in that moment through those words, God reminded me of His love – and that He cares about every detail in my life.
One of my constant prayers is that God’s love for us is tangible and visible – that we don’t just feel it, but we see it, and people around us see it as well. And I can testify that He always does this, and I have seen that it has drawn people to ask questions and have conversations with me that led me to talk to them about God!
God loves you – and the thing that always hits me is that we did not do anything to earn this love, because He first loved us! God’s love is so pure and unconditional – He put and continues to put us first! I really love how the verse above describes the depth of God’s love and how it is important for us to experience this love in its entirety. All that God did through His son was for our sake – despite how underserving we are/were!
This week I pray that you experience God’s love, that like He did to me yesterday – may He remind you about His love and show it to you!
Dear God,
May we experience your love this week, may you show us that you care about every detail in our lives, and may we always know that you loved us first – we did not earn it, nor did we deserve it, but you still love us and will always love us! May we learn to be grateful that you chose and keep choosing us!
Amen.
