Be yourself!

This is one of the things that I try to live by daily, and I keep reminding myself that no matter what happens I should always be true to myself. There is something that Pastor Mike Todd always says “God can’t bless the fake you”.

When I started blogging and using my social media to share my faith one of the things I feared was someone who knows me telling me “you have changed” or “the Sophie on social media and the Sophie we know are two different people”.

So anytime someone I know on a personal level tells me that the things I post on social media are really the person that I am – that is impact me for me! There are so many pressures in life and social media adds to that at such a high rate, and that’s why we should learn to be and love ourselves. We are all unique and special in our own ways – and the world needs that uniqueness!

One of the things that has helped and keeps helping me is surrounding myself with a solid system that I allow to speak the truth to me even when it hurts. They hold me accountable, and because they know me I trust their advice. It is important for everyone to have a support system that you can be transparent with – never walk alone! And if you are part of someone’s support system, then be true to yourself and to them – and speak to them to build them, even if you are criticizing them, always do it with love!

You must be deliberate about this. It doesn’t come naturally for everyone (well at least it didn’t for me) but the confidence I get in knowing that I don’t have to fit into someone’s idea of who I am – or to please someone so that they like me, is refreshing. My identity is in God, He defines who I am and it is He that I seek to please daily. For me this is very important as I yearn to live a life that reflects my relationship with God. This has helped me in all spheres of my life as even when I seek to make myself better, the person I look up to is God.

My prayer is that you will be yourself and you will be confident while at it. Never forget who you are whose you are.

Thanks for reading and happy pre-Friday!

I love to write, talk and share my experiences, I strongly believe in the power of sharing and how one’s experience is enough to shape another person’s life.

To forgive does not mean to forget (Reference scripture Matthew 26:31-35 & John 21:15-17) The reference scripture is the story of Peter. In Matthew is when Jesus told Peter that He would deny Him, and in John is when Jesus told him to feed His sheep. This was after He set

Getting to know my why!

When I started blogging, I knew that God wanted me to,as He had told me both directly and indirectly (through people) to share my faith. However, I struggled with the why. It took a lot of courage to decide to just start and believe that somewhere along the line I will

Word of the week – 28.02.2022

One of the things I have set to fully understand this year is forgiveness. I have a tendency of holding onto things for such a long time and thinking that I have forgiven simply because I convince myself to “let go” – but that is far from reality. So, early this
