Welcome to my blog!

Hello and thank you for stopping by!

Ever wanted to do something that you love, enjoy and even dream about, but are scared and unsure? Well, that has been me for quite some time. The question ‘what if’ ringing so clearly in my ears that I believed that maybe it is not meant for me.

I love to write, talk and share my experiences, I strongly believe in the power of sharing and how one’s experience is enough to shape another person’s life. I listen to a lot of stories about people who had their fair share of doubts, and were surrounded by pure sights of failure and confronted by every reason why they should never chase their dream. But despite that, they decide to take that step and silence the negativity and pursue all that was in their heart with nothing but the desire to succeed.

Ever heard of Tyler Perry? Late last year, I saw him trending on twitter, and was so interested in his story so I started reading about him and watching his interviews, speeches and all. His book ‘Higher is Waiting’ was my read in November 2019, and when I tell you I felt like He was literally telling to me to stop sitting on what God has placed in my heart, and take that step, I mean just that! Despite all odds, Tyler Perry is the man we know today! He had his fair share of failures and he pressed, pushed and now he is experiencing the reality of his dreams.

When in campus a young lady came to my room one day and asked if she could speak to me, we sat in my room for a very long time and spoke about school, about life, about our walk with Christ. And I remember her telling me ‘Sophie, God has given you a gift to talk and just make someone feel better’. I did not think much about it until later on after school a friend of mine texted me and told me that when we would talk she would feel encouraged. This specific message hit me hard because this friend does not open up easily. So I decided to pray about it, and then I forgot about it!

Early last year, I decided that I am going to start a blog to simply write about the things I am passionate about. At the time I knew I had no formula, just an idea. I started designing what I thought was what I am supposed to do and would love to do, and God started shaping my thoughts more and speaking to me louder that I should start a blog that is dedicated to Him – a Christian blog. After months of self-doubt, planning and stopping to plan, procrastinating, running away, I decided to listen and let God have His way.

I had a hard time coming up with a name for my blog and changed it about three times. Eventually, I settled on my name – this is my identity and the blog should be a reflection of who I am as a person.

I love learning new things and when I decide to learn something I go all in, until I understand it well. That is the same with my relationship with God, when He shows me something or I hear or read about something, I watch sermons, I read notes until I get the message. This space therefore is a place to unearth deeper meaning and understanding to different areas that I am passionate about.

This blog is about sharing thoughts and experiences, having conversations that add meaning, purpose and a fresh perspective to our day to day lives, as led by God!

I hope we can learn from each other and that this blog will inspire and impact someone.

Serving your Season!

A few Sundays ago, we were in church, and I noticed how attending church has changed for me. We get to church, attend the praise, and worship session (thank the Lord our daughter loves music), and sit through the next sessions, a few minutes of the sermon and she wants to

Can I be independent in marriage?

A friend of mine asked me that question the other day. And this is what I told her: Being independent means “not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence”. When I look at the vows we make, the beginning of marriage takes away our independence. However, what varies throughout marriage is

Trusting God is a Narrow Path…

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”. Matthew 7:14 When I think about a narrow road, I imagine that the person using that road must be sure that that is the road they want to take. Because it is
